Your search for supplies leads you back to the Beneviento House. You've heard horror stories from the people who have been here. Both Donna Beneviento and Angie were formidable opponents who used a hallucinogen to make them see things that weren't there and to fight things that weren't real. All the while, they would take shots at them and slowly wear them down mentally and physically.
Unfortunately, you've scoured most of the rest of the area and haven't found anything.
So here you are. The house sits at the edge of the raging waterfall, so close that little splashes of water hit your face.
Alright fine.
You go inside and immediately begin searching around for anything useful. Although there are some valuables that might sell for money, you don't see anything until you come across an elevator.
You don't like the idea of going further into this place, but given you are low on ammo and nothing else has turned up, you decide to at least check it out, see if maybe something was left around.
The elevator ride doesn't last too long and soon you find yourself in what looks like...almost like a hotel lobby of sorts? There's a chair in the corner, a desk in a nearby hallway with one of those useless lamps that barely lights up anything.
As you do you take a few steps forward, and then you hear something.
A giggling.
Okay nope, time to get out. You turn around, but the elevator is gone.
Crap.
You turn back around and suddenly the whole room is filled with dolls...just staring straight at you.
And then they all start speaking at once, with different phrases and messages. It's a bit jumbled, but after a moment you start to notice a pattern.
A hidden message perhaps?
You take out a pen and paper and start trying to parse through the various messages.
~~~~~
Rules:
1. There are 20 encoded messages. It will be up to your tribe to determine the decoding method for each message. Each code has a different decryption method.
2. You will be allowed to use outside resources for this challenge including solvers. In fact, we recommend it.
3. The 2 tribes that finish the challenge (see rule 7) the fastest will win and be safe from going to a Council of Four Houses.
4. Before you start the challenge, please make a new thread in your tribe area for you to discuss the challenge in. Going forward, written documents shared between a tribe is banned for potential breaches of anonymity and talking outside of the forums.
5. From the time your tribe starts this challenge, you will have 5 hours to complete the challenge. We do not recommend waiting until just before the deadline to start. Please be sure to start in advance of the deadline and plan accordingly. If you haven't started the challenge when 5 hours remain on the challenge deadline, your time will automatically start, but you still must access the document to get your messages.
6. It is not a requirement for your entire tribe to participate nor is it required for any tribe member to be present for the entire 5 hours. This is a team challenge and you can designate/decide however you want to plan your time. Communication and coordination are key for every successful Team of Agents <3
7. It is not a requirement to decode all coded messages, though they may help in the event of a tiebreaker (see rule 8) and may help you to understand what it is you are supposed to do for this challenge.
8. a) Although there is a very specific way in which you will finish this challenge, which we believe you will figure out once you decode enough messages, please be sure to compile your decoded messages. A compiled list of completed decoded messages will help us in the event a tiebreaker is necessary. The highest number of decoded messages will only be used for tiebreaking purposes if applicable. We will accept the final post prior to the 5 hour max out time in rule 5 with whatever number of decoded messages you have posted as your submission for this tiebreaker.
b) This tiebreaker is a separate component to completing the challenge, and in the event "8a)" does not break the tie, the time in which the final decoded messages list is posted will break that tie.
c) Although your timer for the challenge itself will stop when you accomplish the task in rule 7, you may continue to decode messages after that is done for the purposes of tiebreakers as long as you are within the 5 hour challenge time limit.
9. The timer for finishing the challenges and the timer for finishing the tiebreaker are separately timed.
10. Moderators will not be around 24/7 and we will not confirm if you've correctly decoded a message or if you've completed the challenge. We are hoping it will be obvious once the messages are decoded what will finish the challenge for you.
11. To start the challenge, one member of your tribe will need to post a word filter to your thread in your tribe area. Posting any to all of the following word filters will signal the start time for your challenge.
Good luck Agents!
NOTE: Tribe BSAA, you must decide to sit someone out before you can start your challenge. Please do so by bolding that Agent's name in your tribe board (preferably the challenge thread).
